The Gainesville Sun (FLA) ran an article recently about a family sleigh that my father and his wife are having restored. [article here…]
The sleigh in question belonged to my great grandfather, Benjamin Herr, for whom I was named. He used it during winter months to commute to and from his job as a schoolteacher near Lancaster, PA.

Cool. Maybe it will be yours someday?
Also cool: my ancestors also had a farm near Lancaster, PA … I think it was close to Lititz. At some point, for some reason I don’t know, they moved the whole operation (house and all, I believe!) to Pisqua, OH …

I need a Sleigh in Winston-Salem as much as I need the proverbial wart on the ass, but it would be pretty cool. I could use it to commute in the winter as well. I’d have to put one of those ribbon magnet things on it and maybe a “Jesus fish” to blend in, though.
