NRA’s Secret Graphic Novel Revealed! – Wonkette
The artwork in this forthcoming “graphic novel” (that’s really just an illustrated pamphlet as far as I can tell) by the National Rifle Association looks better than 99% of the books that won Ignatz awards at last year’s SPX.
The lambasting the book gets from Wonkette (linked above) is funny in and of itself, but also unintentionally so, since it’s about as reactionary as the material it’s mocking. See, the joke is that the pamphlet’s “racist,” cause…you know, everyone who’s in favor of legal ownership of handguns is racist, right? Get it?
Here, for example, is one of the biggest threats to the white suburban hunter: dirty hippies and their evil sidekicks: the dynamite-carrying owl, sinister pig, angry Wall Street bull, dire wolf, terror chicken and Land Lobster

It’s all clear to me now. The Beastmaster has become a shadowy player in the liberal cabal, and is training an army of TNT-wielding, teeth-baring pinko barnyard beatniks (sort of a reverse on the Orwell theme) to deprive us of our right to defend ourselves from the torch carrying mob. We’ll all wind up like the monster in that famous saga, burning up in our windmill hideaways while the hippies hacky-sack and belly dance around the flames!
