(Almost) 100 Demons

A while back—I can’t exactly remember when, maybe around Thanksgiving—I purchased a small moleskine notebook in which I set out to draw one hundred demons/monsters. I always like to have some sort of fun list-based drawing project going on, and I’ve seen a few other cartoonists who, like me, were inspired by Lynda Barry’s book One! Hundred! Demons! and tried this project. Regretably, the notebook in question has only 97 pages… so my version of this exercise is called (Almost) One Hundred Demons. I generated about 250 randomly generated names for these creatures using an online ramdom word generator.

I’m going to be scanning the drawings at the rate of one or two a day (in the order in which I drew them) in preparation for making them into a minicomic and hopefully I’ll have time to post them here as I do. Here’s a first batch:
