Forbes Magazine has published a list of its 15 wealthiest fictional characters, along with an explanatory biography of each. They are:
1. Santa Claus
2. Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks
3. Richie Rich
4. Lex Luthor
5. C. Montgomery Burns
6. Scrooge McDuck
7. Jed Clampett
8. Bruce Wayne
9. Thurston Howell III
10. Willy Wonka
11. Arthur Bach
12. Ebenezer Scrooge
13. Lara Croft
14. Cruella De Vil
15. Lucius Malfoy
Says one astute slasdot reader, “Forbes estimate of McDuck’s wealth is too low. Assuming his money bin is a 100 foot cube full of gold coins, the value is well in excess of $100 billion.” But I guess you’d have to subtract from the 100 feet the displacement of Scrooge’s body, since he’s known to enjoy “swimming” in his tower of coins.

Did the guy that writes the bad jokes that appear at the end of barroom video trivia get a job at Forbes? Is it even possible to be richer than Richie Rich? That would be like being filthier than Pigpen.
