Over at the Camel City Cartoonists’ Guild and Social Club message board, we’ve been kicking around some ideas for a minicomic called Werewolf… by Day!. It’s gonna be a riff on the old 70s Marvel character Werewolf by Night, except that our book will showcase the characters boring day-to-day activities, rather than his ravaging and maiming, which occurs mainly at night (and has been pretty well documented at this point by the Marvel series). The character’s name in the original series was—believe it or not–“Jack Russell,” but this was the 1970s and well before the advent of Fraser, so maybe the canine connection is just a conicidence. At any rate, I prefer to just call him “Werewolf by Day,” as in, “Hey, Werewolf by Day, you want to stop by T.G.I.Friday’s after work for some jalepeno pizza shooters and a couple of beers?”
