TheFourthRail.com – Down The Line

Thanks to the folks at The Fourth Rail for some good press for Strange Eggs (it’s about 10 or 12th from the bottom in the list).

Staying ahead of the Joneses

Yeah, I bought a razor with two blades…but then there was one with three dammit! Then I bought that one..but no sooner had I done that than they made a razor with four blades. It’s damn frustrating, that’s for sure—frankly, I’ve given up on the men’s razor arms race, but I’ve got the skinny on a sure bet for the enormous gas-guzzling truck competition: the F-650!

Yeah, that’s right: first there was the F-100, then the F-150. As if that weren’t enough, you can get a F-250…and even a F-350. That’s the truck you see pulling those gigantic trailers that are the size of a small skyscraper turned on its side. But why not leap ahead of the pack, skipping the as-of-yet nonexistent F-450 and F-550 and go right to the F-650!! In fact, one cannot mention the F-650 without using exclamation points! Check it out: I drove my F-650 to the store to buy wrenches, beer, a football and ammo!!!! Dig it:

Project: Crackhouse – The Studio V

The studio now has walls and an ceiling—in fact, it is now the warmest, quietest room in the whole house since, unlike the other rooms, it has better-than-code insulation all around. Thankfully, there are no longer any means by which the cat can access the infastructure of the house now that the sheetrock is up.

AppleInsider | Sources: Apple developing updated AirPorts, two-button mouse

A two button mouse, you say?! What will those innovators at Apple think of next–a steam powered locomotive, a movable type printing press, the New World? Will Mac users be able to handle the newfound complexity of this startling innovation? Only time will tell…

Cat vs. Human

Despite my best efforts to keep my cat, Gimli, out of the infrastructure of the house while the upstairs room is being worked on, he defeats me at every turn. Here he’s managed to get into the framing of the attic and is walking along the now-exposed ceiling joists. I’m guessing he must have gotten up there by jumping from on top of the giant heap of insulation that’s in the room waiting to be installed after the ceiling.
