ComicSpace – benzilla’s Space

I’m currently the only person in the world who doesn’t have a MySpace page.  I’ve been the last of the holdouts with this whole “social networking” deal, but I’m giving this new comics-specific site a try…. So visit my page and friend me up!

Lone and Level Sands Readers Guide

Archaia Studios Press has posted some study guides to A. David Lewis and m p Mann’s Lone and Level Sands here.  I wrote the introduction to the book and contributed to the advanced study guide (direct link).  This is notable not just for its educational value, but also because it’s the first time (in print anyway) I’ve been labeled a “heretic.”  While this still takes a backseat to being called a “dirtbag” by a Virginia Beach Police officer while in high school, it’s definitely notable.

For the Public Record

ICv2 News – First Second’s Mark Siegel on ‘American Born Chinese’

Despite what one might assume solely from reading the tons and tons of (well-deserved) interviews with recent National Book Award nominee Gene Yang, the man did not materialize ex-nihilo on the front stoop of First Second publishing.  He self-published comics for a bit and was the recipient of the Xeric Grant, and then was published by Slave Labor Graphics.

Just getting that out there…

Hauned Mansion #5

In stores now is Haunted Mansion #5, featuring stories by Dan Vado, Devon Devereaux, Drew Rausch, Jon “Bean” Hastings, Mike Moss and yours truly. My story is about “Biscuit,” the Cajun werewolf who lives among the ghosts at the haunted mansion. I posted a page from the story a way back, but here it is again:
