Satisfactory Comics: Shufflepagus

Issac Cates and Mike Wenthe of Satisfactory Comics seem to be blogging now over at satisfactorycomics.blogspot.com and the most recent post there is generally all about the “shufflepagus” comics jam technique, but uses as an example the particular shufflepagus that I participated in, back before SPX 2006, with Mike, Issac and Adam Rosenblatt. The shufflepagus is one of the funnest, but most challenging, jam comics techniques around, but it’s kind of hard to explain in the abstract. Isaac, though, does a great job of explaining the basic idea in this post and supplies plenty of visual examples to bring it all together.

Harry Potter “Cliffs Notes”

As you’re likely aware unless you’ve been living in a cave (you’re off the hook, Osama)  the next and final installment of the Harry Potter saga is coming out at midnight tonight.  In a perfect world (or at least one where I were more of a fanatical Harry Potter devotee) I’d have reread all of the previous novels before starting in on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but alas such is not the case.

Instead, though, I’ve assembled summaries of all the previous books from their respective Wikipedia pages and turned them into one handy PDF document.  Have at it, if you like:

Also of note is this page of Harry Potter book “disguises” in case you want to camouflage your copy with something less nerdy/more manly.  My favorite: Instrument of Death – “They stole his life.  He stole their tank!”

Harry Potter and the Enchanted Bug Spray

You know… I’m excited about the new upcoming Harry Potter novel, but apparently not quite as excited as the person at the Photoshop helm at the advertising department at KMart.  Check out this ad from the Sunday paper a few weeks ago.

Remember, folks, when you go camping:

  • Keep your food away from bears
  • Always use sun screen
  • And, for the love of God, please don’t forget your enormous three foot tall copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets!!
