MARVEL MONSTERS FIN FANG FOUR

I rarely find any comics published by Marvel or DC that I’m interested in enough to buy, but I took note of—and immediately ordered—this item being solicited for October release:

Written by ROGER LANGRIDGE & MICK GRAY Penciled by ROGER LANGRIDGE Cover by ERIC POWELL Four giant monsters – incarcerated for years for their crimes against humanity – now find themselves shrunk to human size and working at the home of the very people who captured them: the Fantastic Four! Meet Googam, Son of Goom (and the Baxter Building’s parking lot attendant), Elektro (the robot with a forbidden love), Gorgilla (expert window-washer) and Fin Fang Foom (head chef at a classy Chinese restaurant)! But when Goom’s mad plan to rescue his father goes awry, the quartet must put aside their differences and become – the Fin Fang Four! Join Eisner and Harvey Award nominee Roger Langridge (Fred the Clown, Knuckles the Malevolent Nun) in this wild romp through the Marvel Universe! Plus: Witness the first appearance of Fin Fang Foom in a classic story by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers from Strange Tales #89, October 1961!

Midnight Sun – Characters (yet again)

Some jackass hacked my site over the weekend, so I’ve gotta repost these character designs since I lost the original posts as a result. Am I mad about being hacked? Nah…. I posted this stuff originally on Friday and noticed I’d been hacked on Sunday morning; if some pathetic soul has nothing better to do with his or her weekend than hack some nobody’s blog, then I’m glad I provided them with some weekend entertainment. So, anyway, here’re the charcter designs prevously posted:

Dog Days of Summer

Here, the worthless hound Sheila occupies the landing on the stairs, a curiously cool spot in the crackhouse.

Bill Mauldin book to mark end of World War II

I’m excited to see that Bill Maudlin’s WWII cartoons are going to be collected. It seems like just about every few weeks the art house comics publishers like Fantagraphics announce some new collection of this sort, but Maudlin’s work has until now been neglected.
