Portrait Night 6/14 (Morrissey)

Tonight’s #PortraitNight subject is mopey 90s alt-rocker Morrissey. I changed the color of the light-colored shirt in the reference photo. Everyone knows that Morrissey wears black on the outside because black is how he feels on the inside.

  2. I was going to suggest Morrissey, but it felt kind of self-indulgent. I’m glad you drew him! You captured that languid goofiness he has.

    @Isaac – I didn’t know he was a fan. There’re a surprising number of comics folk that are Morrissey fans it seems. (And, yeah, I should probably be doing these portrait things on decent bristol board w/ resale in mind instead of in my sketchbook…)

    @Jennifer – Thanks! For such a distinctive-looking guy, his features individually are pretty subtle. Hopefully I’m improving with this portrait stuff little by little.

  7. All i can say is nice drawing. “Morrissey wears black on the outside because black is how he feels on the inside.” Morrissey has an attitude and i am sure of that.
