It’s been three years<\/em>, but HeroesCon is back, y’all! <\/p>\n

I’m super-excited to be returning to HeroesCon’s “Indie Island” next weekend in Charlotte, NC. I’ll be at table ii-1261. That’s dead center, in the first row of Indie Island tables. <\/p>\n

I’ll have copies of the Eisner-nominated Four-Fisted Tales<\/em> for sale, as well as all of my previous books.<\/p>\n

Note that I’ll be there Friday and Saturday only–not Sunday. <\/p>\n

MEGA-Panel! <\/strong><\/p>\n

Also back after three years is the HeroesCon MEGA-Panel that Jennie Law, Craig Fischer, and I have been doing at the show for many years. This year’s topic, as you can see below is, “Believe It or Burn! Comics, Religion, and Spirituality.” <\/p>\n

Saturday at 2:00 pm in room 205.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Heroes Con mega-panel\u2014the first in three years!\u2014explores the intersection of comics with issues of faith and belief. We\u2019ll interview cartoonist Noah Van Sciver about his forthcoming graphic biography Joseph Smith and the Mormons<\/em> (Abrams), while artist and graphic designer Kayla E. will talk about the spiritual themes in her paintings and upcoming comics memoir Precious Rubbish<\/em> (Fantagraphics). Then Kayla will join Minister Shakeisha Holton Gray (Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church) and Professor Andrew Kunka (University of South Carolina, Sumter) for a roundtable discussion about Justin Green\u2019s classic underground comic Binky Brown Meets the Holy Virgin Mary<\/em>. Plus: mega-panel co-organizer Jennie Law on versions of the Devil depicted in comic books, and co-organizer Ben Towle on convincing and less-so fictional comic-book religions, with a look at The Replacement God<\/em>, The Incal<\/em>, and more. Join us for worship! Panel recommended for adults.<\/p>\n
