Like the classics from Dave Letterman&#8217;s timeless &#8220;Top ten things that sound dirty but aren&#8217;t&#8221; list, Googling oneself sounds lecherous but really isn&#8217;t; it just means typing your own name into google.com and seeing what turns up.  Here are a few of the long-forgotten items that turned up:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barbelith.com\/faq\/index.php\/Dick,_Philip_K.\" rel=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">An entry on Philip K. Dick I wrote for a fansite for Grant Morrison&#8217;s comics series <em>The Invisibles<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sfdm.ca.scad.edu\/vsfx\/faculty\/malcolm\/Ca301\/wip\/best_winter2002\/ca301.1\/benjamin_towle\/benjamin_towle.html\" rel=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">A website of half-assed 3-D animation-related stuff I had to do for a Renderman shaders programming class in art school<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and <a href=\"http:\/\/members.fortunecity.com\/rutkus\/\" rel=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">A band that I had totally forgotten I played bass for when they recorded some demos at our recording studio many a-year ago<\/a><\/p>\n<p>People site anonymity as a virtue of the internet; to them I say, &#8220;Horsefeathers!&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just did for the first time what I&#8217;m sure most occasionally bored folks have done many times before: googled themselves.
