Chris is putting together a Michael Jackson memorial minicomic to sell there.\u00a0\u00a0 And, thus, the call went out to all <a href=\"http:\/\/wideawakepress.com\/buy.html#wapchecklist\" target=\"_blank\">WAPpies<\/a> for comics and pinups of MJ.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s mine:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"mj\" href=\"http:\/\/www.benzilla.com\/uploads\/2009\/06\/mj.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-1673 centered\" src=\"http:\/\/www.benzilla.com\/uploads\/2009\/06\/mj.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"mj\" width=\"228\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have to admit: I&#8217;ve never been a huge Michael Jackson fan.\u00a0 I think <em>Off the Wall<\/em> is a really solid pop record and I dig a lot of the old Jackson 5 stuff, but beyond that I&#8217;m not a big follower.\u00a0 I know he was really important to a lot of folks, but honestly my world was a lot more changed by the recent death of Ron Asheton.\u00a0 As far as record sales go, Jackson is clearly the champ, but I really feel that modern music would sound really, <em>really<\/em> different if Ron Asheton had never walked the earth.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think you can really say that about MJ, though&#8230;\u00a0 On the other hand, he could sure as hell dance better than Ron Asheton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J Chris Campbell and Rob Ullman will be trekking it out to San Diego this year for the big Comic-Con International (alas, I will not be) and it looks like J.
