Shelf Porn

There’s a “shelf porn” thread over at the Comics Journal message board in which folks are posting pictures of their shelves o’ comics-related stuff and I figured I’d add a posting of the bookshelf in my studio. Here’s what I’ve got: I don’t really own any super-rare books or anything–mostly it’s just stuff you could …

It’s a Crackhouse Miracle

“Miracle” is probably too strong a word, and of course it’s more of a catastrophe as far as our finances are concerned, but the exterior of “The Crackhouse” has finally been repainted.  The top image of its original state doesn’t really do justice to how dilapidated the paint was.  Our next-door neighbor told us that …

Today Dennis, the drywall finisher wrapped up the third pulling of the drywall mud, thus completing that end of things. Tomorrow the dried mud gets sanded, and on monday the painter comes …

Crackhouse Update

Here’re a few pics from the ongoing “big dig” in the crackhouse: The roof over the kitchen and master bedroom–the only single story part of the house–was deemed a lost cause and a bizarre plan was hatched: to saw off the uppermost portion of the old roof, and then build a new, steeper roof on …
